St George's University of London
Karolinska Logo St George's, University of London is an independent dual faculty institution, offering medicine and health sciences, although we remain steadfastly part of the confederation of colleges that constitute the University of London. Our independence has enabled us to move swiftly in response to the ever-changing environment in education and research. In the last external assessment of the teaching quality the school achieved the highest score of any London Medical School. SGUL is renowned both for its innovative approach to teaching and the web-based resources it has developed to support self-directed learning. These resources are developed within the e-Learning Unit (ELU), which was established in 2001 to promote the use of educational technology in enhancing learning and teaching across the institution, within the context of SGUL's teaching and learning strategy.
